VIKTAR RUDENKA (singer-songwriter and lead guitarist of the rock group DALI) and IVAN ZAPRUTSKY (trumpeter and concert manager, rock group DALI) will perform and talk about their music in the Belarusian House in London (52 Penn Road, London N7; Caledonian Road Tube station) on Saturday, 3 September, 5 pm. The meeting will take place in both Belarusian and English.

Viktar and Ivan are in the UK to take part in the Edinburgh Festival. Information about DALI with videos and samples of their music can be found at the group’s website dali-music.com.

Admission is free, but a donation of £5 per person to cover expenses would be greatly appreciated. Refreshments will be served.

The event is organised by the Anglo-Belarusian Society.

Vladimir Klochko (violin) and Sergey Smirnov (piano) are to give a concert in Cambridge – for details please see concert-diary. Members of the Anglo-Belarusian society will get a discount; please contact the Secretary.

Liavon Volski, the most popular Belarusian rock star, who played for such bands as Mroja, NRM and Krambambulia. He is also a solo performer and poet. He writes lyrics and paints the sets for his performances.

Liavon will be in London for a few days in October. There will be an informal meeting with him and a chance to hear him singing on Saturday, 9th October, in the Belarusian House, 52 Penn Road, London N7 (Caledonian Road Tube station) from 5pm. Translation will be provided if necessary.

Entry by invitation only. An invitation cam be obtained for a donation of £15 (correction: the tickets can be obtained for £5; cheques should be made to the Anglo-Belarusian Society and sent to the Chairman of the Society: Jim Dingley, 109 Dane Road, Margate CT9 2AF). Alternatively, contact either Jim or Natallia (details below) in advance and make the donation of £15 on the day. Subject to availability, some invitations will be issued on the door for a donation of £18.

Refreshments will be available to all guests.

Please note that this will be Liavon Volski’s only appearance in London. Early booking is recommended.
